Crispy Chicken Schnitzel

   Place the chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1 cm (½ inch) thick.

   Mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.

   Set up a breading station with three dishes: the seasoned flour, the beaten egg, and the breadcrumbs.

   Coat the chicken in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess. Dip in the beaten egg, then press firmly into the breadcrumbs, coating both sides evenly.

   Heat a generous amount of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry the schnitzel for 3–4 minutes per side until deep golden and cooked through.

   Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with a wedge of lemon and a fresh salad of your choice.
